Dan Beyer’s work can usually be described as dark, but thematic. He regularly switches between large-scale blockbuster film trailer music and original scoring for the small screen.

Beyer comes from a jazz guitar background, having first began playing music at the age of 9. His musical interests were broad even at a young age, being inspired by everything from heavy metal to country and classical. He moved entirely into jazz at the age of 17 during his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Denver where he lived and performed as a guitarist and band leader for 4 years after graduating.

His television scoring work begin shortly after moving to LA while attending UCLA when he was asked to write additional music for The Amazing Race in 2004, which went on to feature his music in over 300 episode of the series. He also wrote music with Danny Pelfrey on Guiding Light which earned an Emmy for best composition for a daytime series in 2007.

A few of his other original scoring credits include the FX animated series Chozen , films such as the mystery thriller Culture of Fear starring Malcolm McDowell, Lost In America (documentary) with Miley Cyrus, action/adventure TV shows such as Shadow Wolves, and his trailer music has been heard in over 40 major studio trailer campaigns.
